Our food pantry's primary activity is to recover, stabilize and distribute food into the community to those who need it most. We frequent grocery stores, drugstores, and other charitable organizations to collect dry goods, produce, and meats. We strive to provide more than just a box of food and a smile. We help our clients with food preparation, health and hygiene as well as provide information about existing public programs and resources.
Twice a month, volunteers arrive bright and early to set up 10 different food stations to help their neighbors in need. Every client receives bread, pastries, meat, snacks, pet food, fresh produce, beverages, and anything else We Care has to offer. We know that times are tough and we are happy to lend a helping hand.
Our newest program is designed to help struggling individuals and families in our area that cannot come to our standard distribution. These are folks that work multiple jobs to keep up, have no transportation, or are ill and cannot go far from home. We have established mobile pantry sites throughout our area to meet their specific individual needs.
Each week we are thrilled to provide Catholic Charities with everything they need for their volunteers to prepare a feast for our neighbors in need. These volunteers slave away for hours making multiple dishes (even serving certain items table-side) creating a warm and inviting atmosphere that makes our soup kitchen that much more unique.
