It Takes a Community…Building Success One Program at a Time
We Care Food Pantry is currently the largest food procurement and distribution agency in its four county area. With the help of our volunteers, partners and community, we have been able to help our neighbors in so many different ways. We are very proud of the work we have done, but there is so much more to do.
Food Recovery and Distribution
In our food initiative, our primary activity is to recover, stabilize and distribute food directly to needy people; however we also share food with other area food organizations and churches. Every month We Care Food Pantry recovers or secures food for thousands of our neediest neighbors as well as 31 other hunger-fighting agencies through food drives and other food sources.
We provide food to an ever growing number of homeless people who live in camps in the woods.
We strive to provide more than just a box of food and a smile. We will instruct clients on food preparation, health and hygiene; and provide information about existing public programs and resources. Support can come in the form of a job tip or just a sympathetic ear.
Medical Equipment Lending Program
We can now offer the availability of a Medical Equipment Lending Program. Two clients received equipment from this program. We Care also offers crutches, canes, walkers and other equipment through our lending program.

Every Christmas, the We Care Food Pantry, in partnership with Lowe’s and Citrus County Parks and Recreation, come together and deliver fully decorated and lit Christmas trees to needy families in the area who can not afford a tree. Lowes donatess and deliver the trees and local agencies decorate them with “all the trimmings”
